Delivery and training for self-propelled Goldhofer PST/SL-E for Transportes Carballo

A few days ago, Trainar, the official Goldhofer representative in Spain and Portugal, carried out the delivery and training for two self-propelled PST/SL-E units for Transportes y Grúas Carballo at the port of Granadilla, Tenerife. These units consist of two six-axle modules, configured as 12x4, with a width of 3 meters and a capacity of 45 tons per axle line. Alongside the modules, two Power Pack Units (PPUs) were included, enabling the equipment to operate independently or jointly, depending on project requirements.

Specialized Training Led by Goldhofer

The training was conducted by Erwin Uebel, a technical specialist in self-propelled and modular systems at Goldhofer. Renowned for his extensive international experience, Erwin delivered the training in Spanish, ensuring effective communication with the Carballo team.

During the theoretical and practical sessions, the team became familiar with the operation, configuration, and functionalities of the modules. The tests included parallel operation (with engines on both ends) and inline operation, using the modules in their full configuration.

Notable Test: Combining THP/SL and PST/SL-E Modules

A key test highlighted the flexibility of the Goldhofer system. A three-axle THP/SL module, with mechanical bar steering, was coupled with the 12 self-propelled PST/SL-E axles. Using a special electronic module provided by Goldhofer, high-precision maneuvers were achieved, maintaining perfect geometry between the modules with different steering capacities.

This integration of THP/SL and PST/SL-E modules provides Carballo with a strategic advantage. For less complex maneuvers, the THP module can be used to increase load capacity, optimizing resources and improving efficiency for high-tonnage and large-volume projects.
